Hotel Booking Questions for a Mobility Scooter Trip

Before booking a hotel, describe the trip you need to make inside the property, not just the scooter you own. The useful route runs from arrival through reception and the lift to the room, with the facilities you actually intend to use along the way.

This is a planning worksheet, not an accessibility certification or a promise that a particular scooter will fit a particular room.

Ask about the room you would actually book

Hilton's accessibility information notes that accessible features vary by hotel and room. A general accessibility label therefore should not replace a conversation about the particular property and room type you are considering.

Send your important questions before making a booking whose terms you cannot comfortably change. Ask the property to identify the room category its answers apply to. If the answer describes “our accessible rooms” without identifying the option you can reserve, ask for clarification.

Work through the route

Start with the arrival point. Ask about the route from parking or drop-off to reception, then from reception to the room. Include changes of level, doors and any lift that forms part of that route. Request useful clear measurements where they affect your decision, rather than accepting “it should be fine.”

Next, ask about the space you need inside the room. Explain whether you intend to use the scooter indoors, where it would remain when not in use, and what other equipment or assistance you need. Do not assume a folded scooter's dimensions describe the space needed for driving or turning.

Part of the stay Question to send
Arrival Which entrance and route apply to my reservation?
Lift and corridors What clear dimensions or restrictions should I check?
Room Can you confirm the layout of the room type I can book?
Charging What arrangements are permitted for my equipment and charger?
Contingency Who should I contact if the confirmed room or route changes?

Keep equipment approval separate

Use the scooter and charger instructions for charging requirements. A hotel's willingness to provide an outlet is not equipment approval, and a booking email is not evidence of safe electrical compatibility. Resolve each question with the party responsible for it.

For the Igofor EM301 listing, obtain the measurements and documentation relevant to the exact configuration you would take. This worksheet supplies no unverified range, weight, turning-radius or battery-transport claim.

Save the property's replies with the reservation details. The goal is a documented plan for your own route and needs, not a general conclusion that every hotel described as accessible will work for every mobility scooter.
